My story
Georgia-bred trailblazer, Melinda Sykes, has recalibrated the way people view and think about leadership. As the founder of The Business Notebook®, Credibility Cure®, Alabama Nail Co.® and Multi-Unit Franchisee Owner of Waxing the City® and Amazing Lash® she's an accomplished entrepreneur with many interests.
The savvy entrepreneur has actively worked to improve the knowledge gap that inhibits many executives from connecting to their diverse and ever evolving workforce in a way that creates positive changes.
Before pursuing her entrepreneurial adventures, the Troy University M.B.A graduate honed her talents for a decade in procurement helping run a half-a-billion-dollar business. In 2017, Sykes birthed Waxing the City in Dothan, Alabama as her first entrepreneurial investment. Her impactful leadership acumen quickly rose the business to a million dollar business in less than 3 years.
Naturally, Sykes’ entrepreneurial spirit building brands would lead her to create the industry disruptors in the financial and esthetics industries.
